According to studies Dolakha is one of the mountainous districts of Nepal which is under high risk of earthquake. Carikot, the burgeoning city in Bhimehswor Municipality is witnessing the escalating numbers of buildings, moslty not following the earthqauke safety measures. In this context, Bhimeshwor Municipality Office has taken the initiatve to aware  people about the earthqauke preparedness.

This initiave is in lieu with the Local Self Governance Act, Periodic and Yearly Plan of Bhimeshwor Municipality. This is also the preparation of the Municipaltiy Office to implement the National Building Code from the coming Fiscal Year 2069/70.

The initiative includes an orientation programme on Earthquake and National Building Code to the current and prospective house owners,schools, hotels, banks and other financial instituions, media and other stake holders. This also includes disseminating information on the earthqauke preparedness and National Building Code through different radios and print media.
